Valerie Vollmer
Valerie Vollmer, Contralto, is a native of Erie, PA. She received her Bachelor of Music in Applied Voice from SUNY at Fredonia, NY and her Master of Music in Voice from the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT. While finishing the program at Hartt, Valerie was invited to join the three-time Grammy winning choral group, The Gregg Smith Singers (GSS). She spent the next three years touring the US and Italy performing and recording with composer, Lucas Foss, conductor, Robert Craft, TV & Radio personality, Garrison Keillor and Jazz legend, Dave Brubeck to name a few. Valerie has sung in every major concert hall in New York City both as a soloist and a choral singer with organizations such as The Opera Orchestra of New York, Canterbury Choral Society, and The National Chorale. She performed her solo Lincoln Center debut in May 2002 in Wishes, Wonders, Portents and Charms by William Bergsma, and she has sung under the baton of Marin Alsop in Leonard Bernstein’s On the Town at Alice Tully Hall. Valerie resides in the NYC is a longtime member of the Grace Church Choir in Brooklyn Heights under the direction of Organist, Paul Richard Olson.
